Ready to Rupture

She felt her frustration building...

What more could she do

To let the gods know they were wrong?

 Wrong to send floods

Wind, rain

Fire, quakes

Tsunamis, drought

Sorrow ...

Death.

She was but one ...

A single solitary soul

Aching for the world to be a better place.

 Helpless

But not hopeless --

Overwhelmed

But not powerless --

She threw back her head

And stuck out her tongue

In contempt of the mayhem ...

Mending the world would begin today.
